You Have to Play this Game: Rimworld

Rimworld is a colony management game that has survival mechanics, management, and building. It was released in July 15, 2016 by Ludeon Studios. Rimworld is a game that i have 190+ hours in as of February 2020. The first 2 weeks after buying the game i could not stop playing. The game is that good that it completely takes over your thoughts and life. It was the first game i've bought where i was thinking about it throughout the day like how to make my colony better, how to make it more efficient, etc.  There are not many games that can do this to a person and having said this and in many ways Rimworld makes my list of the top game of the last decade. It's a fun, unique challenge that you cannot get anywhere else. It is only once in a decade that a game like this is released and that is one of the many reasons  why you should play it. If you are interested in colony management games this is one of the best. Here is the description from Steam: " A sci-fi colony sim...

How To Get Through Your Video Game Backlog

What is a video game backlog? How do i get rid of my video game backlog? How do i tackle my Steam library backlog? These are all questions you might ask yourself if you have a list of games that you want to play but haven't gotten to or played due to a variety of reasons and they are now sitting there collecting dust physically or in your elibrary. It might be your booming Steam library or it could be a vast quantity of Xbox games that you have sitting on your shelf. Today most of us have our gaming libraries spread out across multiple gaming platform's and this makes it even more difficult to pick out a game to play and actually finish it. In fact actually finishing a game has in itself become a huge problem for me and it makes getting through my backlog even more difficult. However there are steps i've taken that have helped me get through a lot of my unplayed games and I would like to share these with you. What steps can you take to tackle that video game backlog ...

Undermine Major Tips and Boss/NPC Guide Part 2

Bosses in Undermine Bosses, Boss fights and attacks, and tips for defeating them: This section will help you with the most important part of the game, the gatekeeper that holds your progress in it's hand. Advancing through each boss fight opens up new unlocks and completes sections of the game and allows you to make progress. Currently in its early access stage there are 6 bosses. First Boss-Rock Mimic (Mini-Boss): This is a mini boss that you will encounter fairly early on in your Undermine journey in the mines. You will find him when you hit a rock that has gold in it and he will pop out of the rock. However if you are witty enough you can place a bomb next to the rock and he will take a lot of damage even before he does the animation and begins the fight. Try to save a bomb so that you can use it for this occasion as when the fight starts it will be very difficult to place a bomb and do damage without taking damage yourself as he does a lot of moving around. Attack #1- ...

How Video Games Benefit You

(Faster than Light) As more and more people pick up the controller and learn about video games it is important to address an important aspect of video games. The AARP has reported that 44% of people over 50 have played a video game at least once a month in 2019. There are many ways in which video games benefit us from increasing our cognitive abilities and preventing brain related diseases to increasing physical dexterity in our hands. It is time we give up in thinking that video games are "a waste of time" or that we should "Go play outside instead". Many of us have grown up hearing those very same words spoken again and again to us. Teens and children are still being told the same old lines today as in the past whether that be harsh limits put on playing video games or the parents showing that they disapprove of the hobby. (World of Warcraft) We know now that this is not true and is outright misleading as video games have been shown to benefit us in many...

How to Win at Games Without Using Guides

Over the last 2 decades video game guides and wiki's have become a standard part of playing video games. There are many reasons why but one of the main ones is that people are limited in time and don't want to spend hours trying to figure out what to do next. Second many games are not intuitive in their design and require guides and wiki's to use alongside playing the game. Titles that require crafting and recipe's have become more and more popular over the last decade with the release of games such as Minecraft, Terraria, and survival simulation games. Often these games will not have a database of crafting recipe's and it is up to you the player to figure them out one by one. And if they do it is often far easier to look up the recipe online then try to find it in-game. Many of us are familiar with the abundance of Wiki's and guides that can be found online. And though many of us are not strangers to guides we sometimes  want to complete a game without us...
