Is Gaming A Cheap Hobby?

Playing video games is one of the best experiences you can have in life and just like reading a book it allows you to enter and explore fantastic open worlds but many good things in life aren't free unfortunately and while not entirely free video games are cheaper then ever and this leads us to ask is gaming a cheap hobby to have? Can someone who has never played a video game start playing video games at a low entry cost in comparison to other hobbies he might be interested in starting for example scuba diving, mountain climbing  or traveling?  The birth of the Steam market was the birth of a new era and it would became associated with gaming as much as Nintendo or PlayStation. With it's huge sales no longer would gaming be considered expensive. Gamers, kids, and adults alike in countries were pirating games was the norm would suddenly have an affordable option at their fingertips to experience what the western world had known for a while. The experience of being able to downl...

We have all had bad experiences related to video games even while for many of us video games are our favorite hobby and we are mighty passionate and vocal about this  being the case. But gamers aren't dumb and we know when we are taken advantage off. Here are ten worst things in the world of gaming in 2020.  10. Parents who think video games are a waste of time and remind us of this every time they can. 9. Unfinished Games That Are Abandoned After The Developer  Has Already Made That Sweet Sweet Money. 8. Paid DLC And Content That Should Have Been Free. 7. Advertisements in Games We Have Already Paid For. 6. When Hackers And Cheaters Are A Thing In Multiplayer Games. 5. Fall Guys Is Not A Fad

Last month a new game was released by Devolver Digital called Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout. A colorful little multiplayer party game with mini-games where you are a Fall Guy competing in little games with others that involve moving on platforms and avoiding obstacles. Fall Guys has broken many records and has become incredibly popular thou. It has sold 7 million copies on Steam and is now the most downloaded game on PlayStation Plus. It is incredible how a small indie game has been able to achieve such numbers and such fame. Twitch has also been a platform where the game has rose in popularity and spiraled the game into stardom. Twitch streamers have been streaming the game nonstop with average viewer counts in the hundreds of thousand at any given time.  Which brings me to the fact that many people have been saying that Fall Guys is a fad game and will fall away in a month. Well a month later and the game is still going strong with 150,000 average player count on Steam at any give...

Undermine Major Tips and Boss/NPC Guide Part 2

Bosses in Undermine Bosses, Boss fights and attacks, and tips for defeating them: This section will help you with the most important part of the game, the gatekeeper that holds your progress in it's hand. Advancing through each boss fight opens up new unlocks and completes sections of the game and allows you to make progress. Currently in its early access stage there are 6 bosses. First Boss-Rock Mimic (Mini-Boss): This is a mini boss that you will encounter fairly early on in your Undermine journey in the mines. You will find him when you hit a rock that has gold in it and he will pop out of the rock. However if you are witty enough you can place a bomb next to the rock and he will take a lot of damage even before he does the animation and begins the fight. Try to save a bomb so that you can use it for this occasion as when the fight starts it will be very difficult to place a bomb and do damage without taking damage yourself as he does a lot of moving around. Attack #1- ...

How Video Games Benefit You

(Faster than Light) As more and more people pick up the controller and learn about video games it is important to address an important aspect of video games. The AARP has reported that 44% of people over 50 have played a video game at least once a month in 2019. There are many ways in which video games benefit us from increasing our cognitive abilities and preventing brain related diseases to increasing physical dexterity in our hands. It is time we give up in thinking that video games are "a waste of time" or that we should "Go play outside instead". Many of us have grown up hearing those very same words spoken again and again to us. Teens and children are still being told the same old lines today as in the past whether that be harsh limits put on playing video games or the parents showing that they disapprove of the hobby. (World of Warcraft) We know now that this is not true and is outright misleading as video games have been shown to benefit us in many...

Why You Should Play Bad Games

Many of us are used to searching for the very best games out there. We are always on the hunt for the best of the best and in doing so we leave a lot behind us that we hardly ever notice. These are games that lack polish, detail and much more they lack the design of a good game. We let these fall by the wayside as we search for highest rated games to play. By doing so we miss adding something important to our overall experience with the amount of games out there. Why would anyone want to play poorly reviewed games? Games that receive less than an 7/10 on reviews, games that are negatively reviewed on Steam- It seems like one would want to do the opposite, to stay away from those games and play games that receive good review scores and that are fun to play. In fact these games do have a purpose but perhaps not the one their creators had in mind when they made them. The first question we should ask ourselves is why do we like to play good games? What is it in the games that mak...

Steam Vs Epic Game Store

You might have heard of Steam, it's the king of PC gaming of coarse. It has the cream of the crop in terms of amazing titles that you can access through its library. Indies that you can only find here. AAA's that are exclusive only on Steam and we can't forget Valve which is the parent company of Steam own's games including Counter Strike Global Offensive and Dota as well as the Half Life series of games.  It's ubiquitous with gaming in 2019 and until the flare up with the Epic Games Store; the owners of Fortnite we would have thought there was nobody really trying to fight them.  What put Epic on the spotlight in the pc gaming world was it's method of trying to overtake Steam and steal it's customers and it's developers.  Steam has for a long time maintained dominance and in doing so has gathered millions of loyal customers. 90 million monthly active users as of April 2019. Also as of April Steam crossed the line to 1 billion registered account...
